One of the most colorful animation concepts we've see in a while comes together in this strikingly intense and beautiful film by Reza Dolatabadi.
Khoda is the culmination of two years of work in which time Reza Dolatabadi created over 6,000 individual paintings for this psychological thriller. The film, which Reza credits as being inspired by "In the Court of the Crimson King" by King Crimson, has been warmly welcomed all over the film festival circuit and for very good reason, as every frame is truly a painting of its own.
What if you watch a film and whenever you pause it, you face a painting? This idea inspired Reza Dolatabadi to make Khoda. Over 6000 paintings were painstakingly produced during two years to create a five minutes film that would meet high personal standards. Khoda is a psychological thriller; a student project which was seen as a ‘mission impossible’ by many people but eventually proved possible!
Animation by Adam Thomson. Music by Hamed Mafakheri.

o.o;;; dude, each one is individual?! sheesh, that must've taken a long time! regardless, it is amazing. the amount of effort to put into this is exquisite. well done, and great update.
Whoa, must have taken a lot of work. I really like the idea of this kind of animation, never stumbled upon that before. Very good syncing, music, and such.
This blows me away! I can't imagine 6,000 paintings in 2 years, that's what? over 8 paintings a DAY??! Talk about prolific! This is totally incredible and memorable and haunting. One of the coolest things I have seen in a while.
