We all need mini-time-outs whilst we work, right? It's like Snow White's dwarfs whistling... I pop in and out of colourlovers.com to make palettes as touchstones, expressions, experiments and odes. I'm loving it!
Speaking of LOVE... I've received gifts! Thanks so much! ![]() ![]()
I am now officially very addicted to this website and community. Facebook is dull by comparison! These are some of my favourite palettes (click them to give them some love, too): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
I'm going to find tome to refresh this list soon. Here's a lttle more about me (because it's all about me, me, me right? No? Well, just in case you're interested then): My name's Janene and I'm 32 and South African. Being 32 is great - meant to be my year of enlightenment so I'm trying to see the lessons in everything I encounter as opposed to just hating the obstacles. South Africa is a very beautiful country. I love it here and pray that the politics and crime will sort themselves out without further bloodshed and resentment. It's a tough ask, but we can dream... I'm trying to be an artist - a lot of the time The Man (i.e. not the husband) gets me down, and I have to sell my soul to the Design Demon for money... Here's a link to a blog featuring 60 of my drawings: 60days60drawings I'm building a palette set based on these drawings. Here are the first 8: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Here's (another) link to the online business my husband and I started: xealll.com It's a fantastic idea - just needs a little more love and a handful of success stories before it blows the collective mind of the world. We'll see... Speaking of my darling husband, I've made a series of I ❤ YOU palettes dedicated to him. Yup. The cheesiness of love is sticky... I made them into 4 x 3 inch cards with the titles on the back, and am giving the stack to him as his Valentine's Day card. Despite being at war with the 'laminator' and 'edger' (scrapbooking tools - how do hudreds of thousands of women deal with how badly these things actually work?!) the look quite nice. Here they are: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
I'm not a scrapbooker for the record. Firstly I don't have the time, and secondly it's not really my thing. I do make use of scrapbooking elements when I make art and produce things for clients, though. Fifty percent of the time these things are useful, but for the rest they just infuriate me! Why cant things just be made properly? hang on... I'm venting publicly. This can't be good. Although - therapy, right? Oh well - I'll take this out when I feel better. ![]() |
